Please call Gov. Jennifer Granholm now and urge her to veto revenue sharing cuts approved by the Legislature that will jeopardize public safety and devastate other essential services in every Michigan community.

Talking Points:

Revenue sharing cuts passed by the Legislature will force more police and firefighter layoffs.
Cuts will push some communities already in precarious financial shape toward insolvency, and threaten basic local services like water and sewer systems, parks, and roads and bridges.
Cuts will jeopardize public safety for Michigan residents in local communities and neighborhoods.
The cuts of the past eight years have already caused the layoffs of more than 2,400 firefighters and nearly 2,000 police officers across the state.
