General
Membership
Any incorporated city or village or urban township in the State of
Michigan may become a member of the MML on payment of the current membership
dues.
Currently , 514 of Michigans 533 cities and villages and
4 urban townships are members of the League.

Benefits of MML Membership
Annual member dues include:

State and Federal Affairs Office. This Lansing-based office is
responsible for tracking legislation, informing members of legislation,
garnering grass root support for or against legislation or other
issues of concern to members. They also are the lobbying arm of the
MML. Environmental Affairs is housed in the Legislative Affairs office.

Access to Member Services. Questions regarding procedures,
ordinances, charters, etc., that do not require a legal opinion are
researched by the information staff for the benefit of the member.
Printed resources are also available on a lending basis.

Honorary
Membership
Any person who has rendered conspicuous service in the betterment of municipal
government may, by vote of the Board of Trustees, be granted an Honorary Membership
in the League for life.

This category of affiliation is open to municipalities incorporated
under Michigans
statutes for the incorporation of townships, governmental authorities which
carry on the functions of local government and Michigan counties only.
