Civic engagement is a function of how emotionally engaged citizens are with their places. In order to improve civic engagement, we need to improve the relationship that people have with their places. This interactive workshop allows communities to develop their own approaches to becoming emotionally engaged places. It will explore how people connect with their own community, how to improve and maximize that connection, and lead more people towards being active community change makers within their place.
Attendees will be able to identify key community assets, including the currently engaged citizens that shape the municipality. In addition, they will be able to develop strategies and tactics to engage these local development resources.
